Greece: Athens and Mykanos

Greetings from Greece! The land of white and blue...

Highlights so far:
  • Plane ride over: no sleep. Got mistakenly switched out of my window seat, had to sit in the center of the center of the plane.
  • Acropolis is huge and old and neat, but covered in scaffolding! arg.
  • Someone tried to pickpocket Paul on the metro. Luckily he doesn't keep his wallet in his front pocket (duh!). It was an odd experience!!
  • we struggled to stay up until 9:00 on the first day, but only made it until 8:45. Then slept for 10 hours of wonderful, blissful sleep. Even though we were in a dorm room.
  • The weather is PERFECT!!! WArm in the sun, cool in the shade, mediterranian breeze, and the beach is amazing...
  • We ended up going to Mykanos instead of Samos (ferry issues), and found ourselves on a big party beach. It was peaceful until about 2, when the house music slowly cranked up the atmosphere into the evening. Gorgeous beach, though. Mykanos town was easy to get to, filled with winding streets (pics to come).

Right now we are waiting for our mysterious fairy to come. I mean, ferry. Our original ferry was cancelled, and then they refunded us our money and told us to go to the 'replacement' ferry, which takes a bit longer. We still have yet to find if it's for free or not....

Ciao! Until next time...
