Well, acording to the review of Mom's, Paul's post got great reviews. I'll have to get him to post more often (hopefully i'll only have to ask him 6 times instead of 7, next time).
So... since Paul's last post, we had another little adventure. We went to pick up Paul's dad and his wife at LaGuardia airport. Those of you familiar with the NYC area know that this airport is not the closest to Hoboken, (see map) but it had cheaper flights for them at this time. Not sure why, who knows why airlines do the things they do.
Okay, so the map says it takes 34 minutes. And we were driving at midnight, so we figured it would be fine. We were already a little late, so worried about getting there. Well, apparently the whole 'city never sleeps' thing is no exaggeration. We were in traffic all across manhattan, also because they do all their construction at night. So we got to the airport in record slow time, after paying for tunnels on each side of manhattan, and then when we collected our guests who were thankfully not unhappy at our late arrival. Then, we set out for Newark, pretty much back the way we came. Everything was going fine, until we found they had the freeway closed that we wanted to take, so we ended up on a stop and go detour that took quite some time. I kept kicking myself for not taking an alternative route, that i considered but didn't take. We ended up in the middle of the spaghetti mess that you can see on the previous post. But we made it!!! We got home at 2:30am, paul was very tired and agitated from all the crazy driving (people pulling out in front of us, edging into our lane, cutting us off, tailgaiting, the worst) and i couldn't keep my eyes shut from all the navigating. I think we're going to drive as little as possible here...
Finally! We have some pictures to post. I put them in album format, on facebook, and the links are below. Captions and all, but so far just Greece... Italy and Amsterdam will be coming soon.
Greece Photo Album: Part 1
Greece Photo Album: Part 2 (smaller)
Also: Drumroll please!!! We have assembled our apartment and it is now ready for picture presentation. For those of you who still have the stamina to sit through another few pictures...
Photo album of our new Hoboken apartment!!! (which we absolutely love..)
Everyone has been so nice here that we've met, we really love hoboken. The rest of New Jersey could fall into the ocean for all we care, but unfortunately we need those roads to get back home in a year. Darnit.
